Only Rain Down the Drain is our campaign name, created by Vaishnav Bachina and Saharsh Nagalla to protect and preserve our local watersheds. Every time it rains, stormwater flows across streets and sidewalks, collecting trash, oil, chemicals, and other pollutants before entering storm drains. Unlike water from our homes, stormwater is not treated — it goes directly into creeks, rivers, and eventually the ocean. Our campaign spreads awareness about this issue and encourages simple, responsible actions that can make a big difference.
Through community outreaches, school presentations, video games, a website, a mobile app, clean-up events, educational brochures, and more, we are actively working to educate others and inspire change. Our goal is to empower students, families, and community members to understand the importance of protecting our water systems. By working together and remembering that only rain should go down the drain, we can keep our waterways clean, protect wildlife, and ensure a healthier environment for future generations.
